The exhibition is curated by Franziska Nori (director of the CCC Strozzina, Palazzo Strozzi, Florence) and Barbara Dawson (director of the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, Dublin) and exhibits paintings by Francis Bacon, who enter into dialogue with those of five international contemporary artists (Nathalie Djurberg, Adrian Ghenie, Arcangelo Sassolino, Chiharu Shiota, Annegret Soltau) who share the Bacon’s interest in reflection on the existential condition of man and the representation of the human figure. In addition to the paintings of Bacon there is a selection of materials from the archives of the artist: portraits, reproductions of the great masterpieces of the past, still from the film, pictures from books and magazines (in collaboration with the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane who, since 1998, it has the authentic reconstruction of the last London studio of the artist).
