The Tower of Pagliazza for the tasting dinner Florence
The Tower of Pagliazza has a long and fascinating history: in its basements there is a museum which houses the remains of a steam bath dating back to Roman times and the findings discovered during renovations, among which a collection of ceramics by Montelupo. In medieval times it was a women’s prison, where the prisoners were lying on straw bedding, hence the name “Pagliazza”. Today, the structure has been completely renovated and converses its incredible charm, with ancient stone walls exposed. The edifice is also entered in the register of historic buildings in Florence.
